Engine wear is an unavoidable problem with every vehicle.

Engine run-in wear stage


As the name suggests, running-in wear refers to the running-in stage of various parts of a new car. Although the new car has been run-in when it leaves the factory, the surface of the parts is still relatively rough. The running-in of the new car can improve the ability of the parts of the car to adapt to the environment.


It should be noted that some tiny metal particles will fall off during the running-in period. These metal particles will affect the lubricating effect of the lubricating oil between the components, increase the fuel consumption, and need to be removed in time.

natural wear stage


The wear in the natural wear stage is slight, and the wear rate is low and relatively stable.




After the auto parts go through the running-in period, the wear rate will slow down, which is also the normal use period of the engine, and regular maintenance can be done.

Crash wear stage


When the vehicle is used for a certain number of years, the natural wear reaches the limit. At this time, the gap between the various parts of the engine increases, and the protective effect of the lubricating oil becomes poor, resulting in increased wear between parts, reduced transmission accuracy of parts, noise and vibration. , which indicates that the part is about to become incapacitated and the vehicle needs to be overhauled or scrapped.

When the engine does power, it needs to inhale air. At this time, the dust in the air will also be inhaled. Even after passing through the air filter, some dust will still enter the engine.

After the engine stops running, it cools from high temperature to low temperature. During this process, the gas with higher temperature inside the engine encounters the metal wall with reduced temperature and condenses into water droplets. Long-term accumulation will seriously corrode the metal parts in the engine.

When the fuel is burned, many harmful substances will be produced, which will not only corrode the cylinder, but also cause corrosion to other parts in the engine such as the cam crankshaft.

冷启动磨损


Most of the engine wear is caused by cold starts. After the car engine is stopped for four hours, all the lubricating oil on the friction interface will return to the oil pan.




At this time, start the engine, and the speed has reached more than 1000 rpm within 6 seconds. If ordinary lubricating oil is used at this time, the oil pump cannot hit the lubricating oil to all parts in time. In a short period of time, dry friction with periodic lubrication loss will occur, resulting in severe and abnormal strong wear of the engine, which is irreversible.

Any parts that are in contact with each other will inevitably rub and cause wear. This is one of the reasons why the oil often needs to be changed.
